Updates

(September 2010)

WP1 has continued the provision of project management, finance, audit and communication with the EC(eContentplus). A significant amount of reviewing/editing on the OneGeology-Europe deliverables (from the second year of the project) has also been completed as part of the WP1 functions.

(January 2010)

End of year reports have been completed for the project and submitted to the EC. Pre-financing for year 2 has been completed and the funds received from the EC.  These will be sent out to the 1G-E project partners in the next week or so in accordance with the Grant and Consortium Agreements.

The project underwent a formal first year review by  the EC Project Officer, Marcel Watelet and a panel of external reviewers.  The project received a ‘Green flag’ report and was allowed to continue to the second year.  The formal review feedback highlighted and praised the technically complex work being undertaken by the 1G-E project which was very strongly aligned the objectives and aims of eContentplus. The consortium (best practice network) built by the 1G-E project was also considered most impressive.

The project held an external advisory group meeting late in 2009.  A panel of experts from a diverse range of organisations and bodies from across the world were gathered to review the 1G-E project progress and provide valuable feedback and guidance.  The feedback from the panel ranged from ideas for additional project tasks, guidance on areas to focus upon within the Work Packages, new or highlighted synergies or initiatives for the 1G-E project and useful thoughts concerning project sustainability.

(September 2009)

  • Operational Management Group meetings held in Brussels (January 2009) and London (July 2009).
  • Project deliverables reviewed and past to EC/Project Officer for review.
  • Project finances/budgets monitored and managed for project.
